One of the challenges that the people who claim that nothing of the universe existed before 6,000 years ago is the existence of a watery fluid mass before God said that He created anything. Genesis 1: 2 says "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters" and that existed before God took any action.

Science cannot tell you when the Earth began. Science can only predict based on existing laws and rules. If the rules were different in the past then science will be wrong. If you see a car driving on a straight road at 60 you can predict where he was 10 minutes ago only if he was always driving straight and at the same speed. You cannot use science to tell you what happened when the rules were different...

The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8) and that should really be enough to settle that question, never the less I want to reinforce that foundational truth with a few more observations. One thing that we know existed before the age of man was the love of God between the two God beings.

Some questions about creation are nothing to fight over; they have no impact on our salvation. In spite of this we all yearn for answers to these timeless questions. The problem is that questions like these can undermine our faith because of the confusion surrounding them. You have no faith because if you did you would believe what it plainly says. That is the gist of some arguments but often what is cited as the clear evidence is not so very clear.

I considered using hard work in the title but God does not do hard work. Their work is enjoyable but very productive. When God is working they are enjoying themselves so why would they want it to be instantaneous? Instant gratification is a trait of man.

God did not say that no matter existed at the creation in Genesis. An unbiased reading of what He does say actually supports a pre-existing universe.

The book of Genesis starts with 'in the beginning God' which pretty much excludes God from what this beginning refers to i.e. this is not talking about the beginning of God. I have also gone through a discourse on angels which shows that they were around when the Earth was created.

Self deception is there because we like it like that. If we don't have faith then self deception is all that we have to cope with this evil world. According to various articles on the internet self deception is an essential part of maintaining a romantic relationship.
