Pandemic - No King but CaesarAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2022-05-02 | People have different views on how the Jews operated in the time of Christ. In my view the Sadducees were much the same as the rich today. They have money and connections which give them power. That power can be used to derail the official power of the state in order to accomplish their own ends.
Pandemic - The Real ConspiracyAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2021-10-03 | I believe that there is a conspiracy but the conspiracy is not with an individual. Unfortunately I sometimes lose sight of that. This is not a battle with people against people but a battle with spiritual wickedness.
Pandemic - Wonderfully and fearfully madeAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2021-11-30 | Sometimes it is not that a tool is a bad tool, it is just that it is not the right tool for the job. If you are dealing with something that is intricate or precious or both, then you want to be sure. Recently black people were wondering if black lives matter. Now many are wondering if anybody matters. How valuable or precious are the lives of average people to big business and big politics? Your world view determines the tools that you bring to the table.
Passover - Celebration not Re-enactmentAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-06-21 | There is a lot of confusion over how Passover was celebrated because people often assume that the celebration of the event means a re-enactment. That is hardly ever true in history and it is not the case with Passover.
Passover - its deep meaningAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-02-24 | This article discusses the meaning of Passover. Passover is a series of events climaxing at midnight on the fourteenth of Nisan. In order to assess the meaning of Passover I believe that we have to identify why we have Passover in the first place and to see if the solution fits the problem. There was a problem that ancient Israel had and there is a problem that all mankind has. They are similar but not the same. Mankind was created to be sons of God and inherit the Promised Land of God's Kingdom of Heaven, but we have been captured by Satan and lost our right to eternal life (the Tree of Life).
Passover - peace of mind for familiesAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-07-05 | The issue of Salvation is the essential topic of the Passover season. We are bound to consider it when we evaluate ourselves before participating in the supper of the vigil. If we have children then their salvation will also come to mind. Apart from eternal salvation we are also concerned about their future in this life.
Passover - pharisees and sadduceesAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-03-12 | We are now going to focus our attention on determining Passover from examining who controlled the religious activities in Jerusalem at the time. A lot of the discussion about the accuracy of Passover celebrations focuses on the activities of the Pharisees as opposed to the Sadducees. I want to examine the reasonableness of this approach in the following paragraphs.
Passover - the Wave SheafAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-06-20 | In this section we establish the timing of Passover and the wave sheaf based on the evidence in the Bible. Following Passover is the first seven day feast called the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The count for this feast begins with Passover but the count for the following feast, Pentecost, does not being with Passover day but it begins from within the Days of Unleavened Bread on a day referred to as the wave sheaf day or Day of Omer and is a feast counted in weeks. In a very real sense Pentecost is still counted from Passover because the Days of Unleavened Bread is sometimes considered by God as an extension of Passover.
Passover - the last supperAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-03-04 | There is a lot of uncertainty and unfounded dogma surrounding the Last Supper. When you try to find hard evidence for people's doctrine you find that it is largely unsupported by the "facts".
Passover - the old symbolsAuthor: buildontherock | Date: 2025-04-05 | A discussion of the symbolism in Passover begins in the Old Testament; indeed, if the Old Testament is left out the conclusions are disastrous. Bear in mind, however, that the Last Supper (for Christians actually the Lord's Supper -N.B. I Corinthians 11:20) is not the same as the Old Testament Passover. It is not the same covenant. The symbols that I am discussing here are the symbols of the Seder as given in the Bible. The symbols given for the Last Supper are discussed later in the Night to be Much Observed section.
